Every collection of reported Bigfoot sightings has Washington State leading the nation in total number of reports. In addition to sightings, Bigfoot culture and Washington have a rich history, just as the forests and mountains have provided cover for Bigfoot that has interested naturalist John Muir, Governor Dan Evans, countless Bigfoot researchers and the occasional Bigfoot attack survivor. Washington boosts a dozen Bigfoot themed conferences and public museum exhibits a year, county ordinances protecting Bigfoot, and has flirted with Bigfoot-themed legislation in Olympia.
