In the life cycle of a bill turning into a law, getting read in a committee is an important step. Washington State’s Senate Bill 5611, which would create a Bigfoot themed specialty plate option for WA State vehicles, went to the Senate Transportation Committee on February 19th, 2019.
The creation of the plates would cost about $13,000 to $20,000 per year and it is estimated to generate $40,000 to $60,000 per year that would go to the Washington State Parks Department.
I had to leave before my opportunity to speak and the fate of the bill is not yet know. The strong presentation by Senator Rivers and the Representative from State Parks support of the bill gives me hope this will get a vote on the Senate Floor
