The Lewis County Historical Museum is preparing an exhibit that features Lewis County’s weird past, including Bigfoot, UFOs and other paranormal reports.
Jason Mattson, the museum director and driving force behind the exhibit says the reception has been on the large part positive. The majority of people who he has discussed it with have their own stories to add to the conversation.
Mattson has organized an event with speakers and time to view the exhibit on April 28th from noon to 4pm.
While the event and exhibit is broadly based on paranormal events, there seems to be focus on Bigfoot. Speakers include Scott Taylor of the Bigfoot Field Researcher Organization (BFRO) and Cliff Barackman , most commonly known for his work with Animal Planets’s Finding Bigfoot tv show.
I asked Mattson what he had learned about Bigfoot since working on the exhibit.
I have learned a lot about Bigfoot since I’ve begun researching this exhibit. I’m impressed by how much can be revealed about the creature by the footprints. How the impressions can reveal Sasquatch’s bone structure and weight. It’s interesting to hear the different sightings. How some are very similar, but by very different types of people. Then, to hear of people who claim to have started the “hoax” of Bigfoot is rather entertaining.
Washington Bigfoot was excited to hear that some of the content from the washingtonbigfoot.com webiste was going to be used in the exhibit.
