The expeditions target these habitat zones. \nThe expeditions are scientific in nature\, but you will only understand where these efforts fall in the scientific process once you have experienced it for yourself. No other scientific efforts will happen with respect to these animals unless these expeditions happen first\, because the BFRO is figuring out how these animals can be studied.

DESCRIPTION:Cryptozoology\, the systematic study of so-called “hidden animals\,” owes its origins to free-thinking Bernard Heuvelmans\, a French-Belgian zoologist in the late 1950s. Since then\, Heuvelmeans’ followers and peers have studied numerous unexplained creatures including the Sasquatch\, as well as Scotland’s Loch Ness Monster\, the Abominable Snowman\, or Yeti\, of Tibet and Mbolel Mkembe\, a miniature long-necked dinosaur\, reportedly from the central African swamps. This presentation describes the state of our understanding of these strange entities and more\, including recent evidence of sea monsters off the Washington coast. \nBook signing to follow. \nDavid George Gordon is the author of The Sasquatch Seeker’s Field Manual and 19 other titles. DESCRIPTION:Go see a free showing of the 1987 family friendly sasquatchploitation classic\, Harry and the Hendersons at the Mose Lake Museum. The film tells the story of George Henderson (John Lithgow) and his family run into something with their car that turns out to be a Sasquatch while returning from a camping trip. Thinking the creature is dead\, they take him home\, but “Harry” (Kevin Peter Hall) soon awakens. Despite their initial fears\, Harry is a kind and sensitive being\, and the Hendersons become very fond of him. However\, it is difficult to keep him a secret\, and soon they begin to fear for Harry’s safety.

DESCRIPTION:The evening will include a lecture by Paul Graves\, “a Sasquatch investigator and researcher in the Wenatchee Valley” for about 25 years. \nThe exhibit will be on display through Aug. 24. A number of Sasquatch-related events are scheduled at the museum over the next two months. \nThe exhibit is on loan from curator Christopher Murphy\, based on a 2004 exhibit he created for a Vancouver museum. Murphy called Sasquatch “a cultural phenomenon on the fringes of science.” The exhibit is provided free to public museums.
